Note

The research done during the estate proceedings of Katherine Crotty Riddell included much information on this family.

A copy of Dennis' death cert. is attached to the statement made by Richard P. Tiedeken. It lists Dennis' occupation as Barber. He was born in London, England. His father was John Crotty from Ireland, and his mother was Margaret Ireland from Ireland. His place of death was 531 S. 3rd St. in Camden. This was probably his residence. He died of Hemorrhage of the bowels with Typhoid Fever. The Medical Attendant was Wm. A Dams from 300 Cooper St. The undertaker was Patrick Powell from Federal St.

According to Richard's lawyer, Lawerence White, Dennis was buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Camden, NJ. The cemetery was abandoned, and Dennis's remains were moved to Calvary Cemetery, Marlton Pike, Merchantville, NJ. A copy of the interment papers for the plots of the Verga family where Dennis's son, John, and daughter and son-in-law, the Vergas, are buried is attached to Richard's statement.

Aunt Mary's research into Phila. marriage records show that a marriage license was applied for in 1885 (record # F 988).
